Two Big News Stories: ENDA and Ex-Gay Therapy

ENDA:

First off ENDA stands for the Employment Non Discrimination Act which would be a federal law to prevent discrimination against gay and trans folk.  ENDA has been previously introduced in the House and Senate but here’s why this is a big deal this time – This is the first time a version of ENDA that includes not just gays but also transgender people  has been introduced in the Senate.  You won’t hear more out of me on this issue till some more major progress has been made. Ex-Gay:

The American Psychological Association (APA) approved and released a massive report yesterday condemning pray-away-the-gay therapy as harmful and ineffective.  The report states that homosexuality is not a problem to be changed and often an unhappy queer would be best off finding a less-homophobic church to attend that doesn’t push crap therapy.

I myself went through a year and a half of ex-gay therapy before I ultimately realized it didn’t work and eventually came the rest of the way out of the closet:

MSNBC.com has the AP story.
If you want to read the APA’s full report a PDF can be found here.
