The Weekend Of October 23-25
It’s only one week till Halloween so you may want to do some costume shopping/prep this weekend in addition to the following:
- Friday night trans fashion icon and performer Amanda Lepore is staging an evening of entertainment at Tracks. Given Ms Lepore’s resume I don’t expect this to be your typical drag show. More info here at my post from earlier in the week.
- Saturday night the Colorado Queer Straight Alliance social networking website is celebrating their 1000th member by having an evening of bowling and Mexican buffet at Elitch Lanes for only $20. More info here at my post from earlier in the week.
- Saturday evening is the 4th annual Denver Zombie Crawl on the 16th Street Mall. Organizers hope to beat the world record of 4,000 participants. Organizers also note this is NOT a pub crawl but a fun family and zombie friendly event. Here’s the event website.
- Since we’re nearing Halloween there are a whole slew of haunted houses open around the Denver area. The most complete and easiest to read map showing your choices seems to be this one.
- The new Genghis Khan exhibit opened recently at the Denver Museum of Science And Nature and will be running through Feb but why not check it out this weekend. Museum website here.
