YOUR DEFINITIVE SOURCE FOR ALL THINGS GAY DENVER

We’re Up to Something

We are a socially activist group of gay men in the Denver metro area who are out to make a difference — in our own lives, in the lives of our friends and in our community as a whole. We believe that our community has something special that’s worth celebrating and cultivating.  We envision a cross-cultural and multi-generational community of men who come together to play, to learn, to heal and to grow.

We are men who love men.  We are gay men who celebrate life.  We are taking a stand for men by celebrating our own lives!

We Invite You to Join Us.
Get Involved.
Make the Difference.

We are a community-based initiative that relies on the energy, talent and contribution of gay men and our allies. Whatever experience you bring to these efforts, you will have the experience of being appreciated, valued and honored. There are many ways to be involved

Participate in a small group discussion

These small group discussions are limited in size, generally limited to 8-10 guys. In these groups we talk about the issues we face as men who love men. Upcoming discussions topics include fitness and body image, faith and spirituality, and gay and aging. You can also volunteer to host a conversation… you come up with the topic and we’ll help support and promote your conversation.

Help plan and coordinate community events

Community events and celebrations are a great way to come together as community. Whether it’s a town hall meeting, a special occasion, or one of our many social mixers, these events are driven by community input and participation. Our events are designed to focus on those things that we have in common while creating spaces that are welcoming to all gay men. If you have a flair for the dramatic or if you’re just a really great detail person, consider serving on the event production team. Contact corey@thedenverelement.com and state your interest.

Be a part of The Touch Team

If you aren’t afraid to talk to strangers and like to meet new people, this might be the most rewarding experience you can find. Our community outreach teams go out periodically to events, activities, clubs and other venues to promote what’s going on in our community. Because we’re out to support all aspects of our community, we will often promote activities for other groups and clubs as well as promoting our various things. More important, community outreach team members are making connections with people in our community and inspiring them to more connected… to themselves, to their friends and to their communities. Our community outreach volunteers complete a training session and are supervised by program staff.

Join our communications and operations team

We’re always in need of behind-the-scenes helpers to assist with communications and operations. While we will use the internet and e-mail as communications tools, we’ve envisioned voice communications to be our primary means to coordinate with our volunteers, with those who are interested in a small group discussion or those who simply have questions about what we’re doing. Our operations teams provide support for both the outreach team and the production team, coordinates a community calendar and our blog, talks with our collaborators and assists with ELEMENT logistics. This team is the backbone of our efforts.

Speak at or listen in on one of our Living Legends Luncheons

We’re interested in telling and listening to the stories about How gay Denver became gay Denver. We begin by inviting those men who have seen it, who have built it, and who are working to reshape it. We then offer a catered lunch and discussion about what’s possible for gay men in Denver. For about twenty minutes, men present their experience and follow it up with time for questions. Check our Events Calendar for dates. If you would like to speak, please contact Corey at corey@thedenverelement.com.
