ELEMENT Conversation Series: Awakening to Love

Love among men is a beautiful thing!  Awakening to Love is an experiential conversation where we explore new ways of being that inspire loving connections among men.  Join us for the experience of being known, being celebrated, and being loved.  Give Christopher a call at 720-382-5900 for more information and to join this conversation.

Wednesday, March 17  |  12:00 noon – 1:00PM

Living Legends Luncheon

Join us as we take time to hear the history of gay Denver and appreciate the men who’ve helped shape the vibrant community where we live.  For this, our second luncheon of 2010, we’ve invited Karl Jaeckel to bring us back to the early 80’s and revisit his role in the formation of the Rocky Mountain Rainbeaus.  Being the founder, he will be able to answer any and all questions about our very own GLBT square dancing club.  So bring your curiosity and your appetite as we delve into our community’s rich history once again.  Contact Corey for more information or to add your name to the guest list.

Starting Friday March, 19th

Getting Off: Community Commentary

As some folks may know, ELEMENT is in the process of building a new branch of gatherings call The Shift. It will be very different from what you know and love at ELEMENT; so different that we’re hosting it at our satellite space. The focus will be much more intimate, including one on one and group conversations that celebrate gay sensibility. One part of The Shift will be an ongoing group of men who gather and build their conversation around meth use in our community. We’re still in the planning stages for that group, which we’re calling Getting Off. In an effort to ensure the group is a valuable one, we’re launching 4 Getting Off focus goups to gather information from men in the community.

If you’re interested in offering your knowledge or experience, the dates for the Getting Off focus goups will be:

3/19 Friday 6:30pm – 8pm

4/1 Thursday 6:30pm – 8pm

4/10 Saturday 1:30pm – 3pm

4/16 Friday 6:30pm – 8pm

Contact Alan for more information and to let us know you’re interested. 720.382.5900 x11

Conversation Series: Almost History?

A celebration of our elders, this conversation explores our ideas of ageing as gay men.  As a community, do we cast our elders aside or do we create ways of honoring them as valued members of our tribe?  This conversation may provide new opportunities for intergenerational community and and new perspectives of what it means to age in the gay men’s community.

Friday, March 26  |  6:00PM – 9:00PM  |  Meet and Greet Starts at 5:30

Homo Culture Collective:

The Life and Work of Warhol and Haring

It can be said that Andy Warhol and Keith Haring are two of the most influential artists of the past few decades.  Tonight we embark upon another evening of infotainment as we explore their affect on each other, the art world, and on the gay community.  Be prepared to meet new men, learn more about ELEMENT, and possibly make some art yourself!  Throughout the evening, we will take in delicious appetizers and the enormous influence these men have had on our collective community.

Ongoing… new sessions starting Saturdays in April  |  9:45am – 12pm

Boyfriend University

Do you want to improve your relating skills or learn more about connecting better with men? Join our ongoing group. Boyfriend University is a weekly, education-based discussion group for gay men.
